Day 1-The Beginning of A Journey

Sleep seems to be escaping my grasp tonight as I begin my journey into the blogging world. This is technically my second time blogging.  I had a Tumblr but I just became to busy to update it and the purpose I want this blog to serve is a means to slow down and reflect on each day.  My freshman year flew by in a flash and while I remember most things and the friends I've made, a written log would be cool to read years from now.  My aunt, who also attended Young Harris College, told me she wished she took more pictures to help remember her times at school.  So this is kind of the first step into something that will develop into bigger things and help me remember that each day is a gift and I should enjoy it, finding the good moments and highlights in the day and not just drudging through another day in life.

I have exactly 4 weeks from the day until I go back to Young Harris.  I'm extremely excited about returning.  I have high goals, which while I did not succeed in last year, I believe I can achieve them this year.  I have grown in self belief and I am slightly more disciplined.

These goals include:
   1. Make a 4.0 in my first semester
2. Make the Dean's List
3. Run a sub 29:00 Cross Country Race
4.  Be named Academic All-American

Periodically, I will post updates and track these goals on my blog with up to date test scores, grades, and results from cross country meets and practices.

I leave you with a quote that has really influenced me throughout my entire teenage life...

"There's always gonna be another mountain, I'm always gonna wanna make it move, Always gonna be an uphill battle,Somebody's gonna have to lose, Ain't about how fast I get there, Ain't about what's waiting on the other side,It's the climb."
